Meet the New Owner

Hi, I’m Julie

"Kids do well if they can."

— Dr. Ross Greene

Occupational Therapist/Owner • Behavior Translator LLC

“Kids do well if they can” is my favorite quote, and it sits at the heart of everything I do.  These same principles also apply to the adults in their lives: parents/caregivers do well if they can.  I believe that behavior is communication and my goal is to discover the underlying skill deficits, support needs and environmental modification that can help each person be the best version of themselves.

Life with "big behaviors" can feel chaotic and overwhelming. My goal at Behavior Translator LLC isn’t just to work with your child, but to work with your whole family and community. I want to help address your family's unique experiences so that life feels less like a constant battle and more like a team effort.

Refining the Foundation

My passion as an OT lies in empowering kids and learning as much as I can about neurodiversity and how best to support those people.  I am constantly looking to reframe behavior as communication and working to translate that communication into actionable steps to help improve quality of life.  I am currently finishing the coursework to become a Certified Primitive Reflex Clinical Specialist, though I have been utilizing these techniques in my practice for several years. Working on primitive reflexes is a powerful way to help a child’s nervous system find balance. By combining this with neurodiversity-affirming, and child lead practices, we can build a foundation where your child feels safe, understood, and capable.

Outside the Clinic

My family and I moved to Durango last summer to return to the Colorado mountains. When I’m not at the clinic, you’ll find me, my husband, and our three kids exploring around town, hiking, skiing, and traveling. We love this community and I can’t wait to work with you!

Empowering kids. Supporting families. Improving lives.
